The Joint Working Groups Meeting of the ASEAN Minerals Cooperation (JWG) was held
at Hotel the Stones Legian, Bali. The event was attended by around 160 participants from
ASEAN countries and was initiated by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba),
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The first day of the event began with a
workshop opened by the Director of Mineral and Coal Program Development, Ministry of
Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, Mr. Julian Ambassador Shiddiq. From the second
to the fourth day, the 11th Joint Working Groups Meeting of the ASEAN Minerals Cooperation
(JWG) and Its Associated Meetings/Events (11th JWG) took place, opened by the Acting
Director General of Mineral and Coal, Mr. Lieutenant General Bambang Suswantono. This
meeting is highly significant as it serves as the highest forum for the mineral sector in the
ASEAN region, where senior officials from ASEAN countries and dialogue partners gather to
hear progress reports on ASEAN mineral cooperation. On the last day of the event, participants
engaged in a field trip designed to introduce the geological and cultural richness of Bali. The
first destination was the Batur Geopark Museum, which offers deep insights into the geological
formations and volcanic history of the area. Next, participants visited Tanah Lot, one of Bali's
iconic tourist spots known for its stunning sunsets and a temple perched on a rocky outcrop
by the sea.Â
