The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) proudly hosted the 42nd Meeting of the ASEAN-China Joint Working Group on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (JWG-DOC) at the prestigious Hotel Padma Legian, Bali. Bringing together over 100 delegates from ASEAN member states and China, this landmark event reviewed the progress of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties (DOC) since its inception in 2002. With a focus on strengthening regional collaboration, the meeting reaffirmed commitments to maintaining peace and stability in the strategically vital South China Sea, a key global trade artery. Through in-depth discussions on addressing complex territorial disputes, building trust, and promoting practical partnerships, this two-day gathering marked a significant stride toward fostering dialogue, easing tensions, and advancing peaceful solutions in the region.
