The 24th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Minerals (ASOMM) is a forum that brought together ASEAN member countries to enhance cooperation within the mineral sector. Hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of the Republic of Indonesia, the event saw the participation of over 250 delegates from ASEAN member countries and dialogue partners. In his opening address, Deputy Minister of MEMR Indonesia, Mr. Yuliot Tanjung, emphasized that the event aimed to strengthen regional ties, share best practices, and promote sustainable development within the mineral industry. ASOMM facilitated discussions on mineral policies, sustainable mining practices, and the development of a competitive mineral sector in Southeast Asia, aligning with goals of resource management, economic integration, and environmental protection. This year's ASOMM was held concurrently with the ASEAN Mining Conference (AMC), organized in collaboration with the ASEAN Federation of Mining Associations (AFMA) at The Meru Sanur, over a span of five days. The event brought together ASOMM leadership, dialogue partners, and industry stakeholders to exchange insights and advocate for sustainable growth in the mineral sector. Side events included an energy exhibition, a field trip, and a gala dinner featuring a Balinese cultural performance.
