ASIA ZERO EMISSION COMMUNITY (AZEC) MINISTERIAL MEETING

The 2nd Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) Ministerial Meeting, hosted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) in partnership with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), took place at the prestigious St. Regis Hotel Jakarta, gathering 275 influential participants from AZEC member countries. This high-level event underscored the collective commitment of the Asia-Pacific region to achieving net-zero emissions and advancing sustainable energy solutions. H.E. Bahlil Lahadalia, Indonesia’s Minister of MEMR, delivered a powerful address, emphasizing the critical role of collaboration in addressing climate challenges while calling for greater technological and financial support to drive Indonesia’s transition. Meanwhile, H.E. Ken Saito, Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, commended Indonesia’s leadership and expressed optimism that this gathering would accelerate decarbonization efforts across the region. The meeting provided a dynamic platform for promoting renewable energy adoption, fostering inter-country partnerships, and advancing actionable strategies to combat climate change. Delegates also enjoyed a gala dinner, which offered a relaxed setting to strengthen relationships and inspire further collaboration. As a milestone event for the region, the AZEC Ministerial Meeting not only showcased the shared vision for a sustainable future but also reinforced Asia’s determination to lead in the global fight against climate change through innovative solutions and united action.
