The 11th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Minerals (ASOMM) Joint Working Group (JWG) Meeting and its Associated Events brought together around 160 participants from across ASEAN at the prestigious Hotel The Stones Legian, Bali. Organized by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) under Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), this event marked a key milestone in regional mineral cooperation. The program kicked off with an engaging workshop, officially opened by H.E. Dr. Julian Ambassadur Shiddiq, S.T., M.T., Director of Mineral and Coal Program Development at MEMR. As ASEAN’s premier forum for the mineral sector, this gathering provided senior officials and dialogue partners with an exclusive platform to review progress and strengthen collaboration on ASEAN mineral initiatives. The event concluded on a high note with an immersive field trip that showcased Bali’s geological and cultural splendor. Participants explored the Batur Geopark Museum, gaining valuable insights into the region’s volcanic heritage, followed by a visit to the iconic Tanah Lot temple, famed for its breathtaking sunsets and dramatic seaside location. This combination of productive discussions and cultural experiences made the event a truly memorable occasion for fostering regional unity and shared growth.
