At the ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central
Bank Governors Meeting (AFMGM), a groundbreaking milestone was achieved as all
ASEAN member states united in support of the ASEAN Treasury Forum (ATF), an
initiative led by Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance Fiscal Policy Agency (MFFPA)
since 2023. With the theme “Optimizing Government Cash Management for
Sustainable Development,” the ATF High-Level Meeting and Treasury Seminar took
center stage for two days at the scenic Luang Prabang Hotel in Luang Prabang
City, Lao PDR, gathering 100 participants. The event commenced with an
inspiring address by H.E. Drs. Astera Primanto Bhakti, M. Tax, Director General
of Treasury and Indonesia’s Head of Delegates. Skillfully moderated by a host
from Laos National TV, the seminar featured distinguished speakers, including
Deputy Director General of Treasury of Laos Boualuengkhin Douangsavanh, Indonesia’s
Director of State Cash Management Noor Faisal Achmad, and IMF Fiscal Affairs
Department’s Technical Assistance Officer Holger van Eden. This forum not only
showcased dynamic insights but also underscored ASEAN’s commitment to advancing
sustainable fiscal practices and fostering regional collaboration.
